The Knitwear Edit
From vests to long-sleeves, Mesure has a wide range of possibilities for knitwear. Knits are ideal to wear underneath tailoring or on their own, for every occasion.
Knitwear fabrics include Merino wool, wool-cashmere, 100% cashmere, as well as blends of cotton-silk and cotton-cashmere. Depending on the fabric, knits can be year-round items: cotton-silk and cotton-cashmere blends offer breathability for warmer months, while Merino wool and cashmere provide insulation for cooler days.
Merino wool
Sourced from New Zealand and Australia, Merino wool is a loved option for knits. It can be chosen both for summer and for winter. The breathability of Merino wool is determined by the number of strands of fabric fibers twisted together, which form the yarns. For a lighter feel, a single yarn is recommended. As for a winter-ready look, two yarns is usually preferred. Ultra-fine Merino wool is the most luxurious option, a true symbol of excellence, most commonly knitted in full and half-zips and polo shirts.
Wool-cashmere
Our fabric options at Mesure include a blend of 90% Australian wool with 10% Inner Mongolian cashmere, reflecting the highest quality, embedded in our brand’s identity. This blend is ideal for everyday wear and mostly used for the tough winters.
Cashmere
Known for its luxurious feel, our cashmere is sourced from Inner Mongolia, where the harsh climate and the specific goat breeds contribute to the fine fibers. Cashmere has a very long life-span, some cashmere fabrics even improving as the years pass, with the appropriate care.
Cotton-silk
As two light materials, the cotton-silk mix is perfect for warm days and sunshine. Made from 80% Egyptian cotton and 20% Mongolian Mulberry silk, cotton & silk knitwear has a smooth appearance with a subtle shine, and drapes beautifully on the silhouette. Its properties include temperature regulation and lightness, particularly used in styles with short sleeves.
Cotton-cashmere
When luxury and comfort meet they result in elegance. The cotton-cashmere blend of 85% Turkish cotton and 15% Inner Mongolian cashmere is the ideal summer addition for breathable and soft items, as well as for switching seasons. Besides the comfort, this knit blend brings richness to any look.
The versatility of knitwear lies in the yarn composition, making it a wardrobe essential throughout the year. Our knitwear is made at a small family-owned atelier in Umbria, Italy.
