The Suiting Edit: Wool
Discover the fabrics' uses, their origins, and how their unique properties shape the way we wear, feel, and live in them. Wool: a timeless choice in suiting, revered for its refined texture, graceful drape, and year-round comfort.
Our suiting is made from the finest wool. This high quality wool is crafted from fiber sourced in Australia – the world’s leading producer of premium wool, known for its refinement, softness, and performance. With over 60,000 woolgrowers, Australia is responsible for 45% of the global wool export. Once a year, typically in spring, sheep are shorn through a painless process by trained professionals. The wool that is used for our suiting fabrics is typically sourced from a sheep's shoulders, as well as its sides, since these parts produce the most high-quality fibers.

At Mesure we work primarily with high-end Italian and British fabric mills, such as Vitale Barberis Canonico, Dugdale, Lanificio Rogna and Loro Piana. Renowned for their heritage of craftsmanship, Italy’s finest mills combine traditional techniques with modern innovation to transform raw Australian wool into some of the world’s most exceptional textiles. They are recognized for their expertise with distincitive textures and techniques - a tradition that dates back to fourteenth century Northern Italy.

Natural wool remains our customers’ most chosen fabric for their made-to-measure suits. Soft to the touch yet confidently structured, it drapes with ease and refines the silhouette. Perfect for layering, wool offers warmth in winter, but keeps you cool in summer due to its active fiber which adapts to your body's temperature. Its versatility and timeless elegance make it perfect for any occasion, making the transition from day to night and casual to formal effortless.
Renewable, recyclable, and ethically sourced, wool continues to be among the most sustainable materials in luxury fashion — uniting environmental integrity with timeless sophistication. Its natural resilience means less waste, fewer washes, and garments designed to endure — season after season.
