The Suiting Edit: Linen
Linen: known for its breathability and long-lasting strength, it makes the perfect suiting fabric for the warmer season.
Natural linen is our fabric of choice for effortlessly refined tailoring. Lightweight, breathable, and exceptionally cool to the touch, it delivers relaxed elegance with a structured drape. Linen’s natural texture and thermoregulating properties enhance each garment’s character - ideal for warm weather and everyday sophistication.

Due to its remarkable versatility, linen also lends itself beautifully to refined combinations. At Mesure, we offer select blends of wool, silk, and linen in various colors - each crafted at renowned Italian mills to balance structure with softness, breathability with subtle shimmer. These blends elevate suiting, as well as shirts, skirts, and waistcoats with a tactile richness and seasonal adaptability, perfect for clients seeking understated luxury with a modern edge.

Our linen is made from premium European flax - grown in the coastal climates of France, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Harvested by hand and processed with traditional retting techniques, these fibers are known for their strength, softness, and natural luster - ensuring a fabric that wears beautifully and lasts.
From plant to fabric, linen undergoes a process of three phases - sowing, scutching, and hackling. The flax plant is pulled out of the ground to preserve the length of its fibre. Following 6 weeks of the fibre lying on the field in the sun, it goes through scutching, the removal of the fibrous skin from the central wood. The fibres are then combed and weaved, making them into a glossy, extra-fine fabric.
